Lisa's Leigh-on-Sea Cat Cuddles

I'm a writer and a book editor but first and foremost I'm a cat mum. I've had cats since I was a child, starting with Mitzi, a black long hair, then her daughter Sweet Pea (shorter hair!), and then Puss (a rescue who had stubby legs from being kept in a tiny box as a kitten - I'm still angry about that). I also fostered a cat when I lived in the States for a short while. She was a Siamese and her name was Lola; I found her living in my laundry room and she became my pal. I knew I couldn't keep her so eventually, I found her a loving forever home with a friend. These days I sofa snug with Pudding; she's a senior cat who belonged to my mum (who sadly had to give her up after breaking her leg). She's another rescue (the cat not my mum), and she absolutely loves her new heated pad, making a mess and eating three breakfasts! I live in Leigh on Sea, where I run writers groups and curse loudly and often about the parking situation. I've cat sat for many years just not via this platform.

I've already mentioned the hugs but a speciality of mine is talking absolute nonsense to cats. Weirdly, they seem to enjoy it. Obviously, I'm an expert treat-giver and cuddle monster - but only if the cat likes it. Some don't. I don't take it personally! Pudding isn't a fan of having her belly rubbed but she'll turn up any day of the week for a chin rub. Whatever your cat likes, I can do. And that's because I'm a big softie when it comes to kitties.
