Chris the Cat Companion

My name is Chris and I am 27 years old. I currently work as a Placement Coordinator in an Edinburgh-based university. My main role is helping to organise yearlong placements in industry for construction and building-related degrees. I am also training to be a careers adviser, part-time.

As well as loving cats, I like to read, paint, listen to podcasts, go for long walks, and cook. I am quite sporty (though not very fit!) and swim, play field hockey, and have recently taken up padel and golf.

I am a very empathetic person and one of my main passions is helping people get to where they want to be. I coached hockey for almost 10 years and, though I loved the competition, it was the relationships which mattered more to me. I got to see people grow and do things they never believed possible - win or lose, I'd already won.

I don't coach anymore as I have spent more time focusing on myself and trying out new things.

Simply put, I love cats. I enjoy interacting with my friends' cats, as well as saying hello to any I encounter in the streets of Edinburgh.

I also know that it requires a leap of faith, knowing that you can go on that work trip or holiday with peace of mind that your pet, an important member of your family, is well cared for.

While I've never had a cat as a pet myself, I have cared for my friend's cats and have experience looking after cats as far afield as London and Cambridge.
