Hello, I'm Doria. I'm 38yo and I'm French. I've lived in the UK for 19 years and in Walthamstow for 11. I work in charity and live with my partner and our cat, Garlic.
I've grown up and was raised around cats - my first word was "cat" apparently, to my parents' dismay. As soon as I was able, I was part of the care system for our cats so I've been trained from a young age.
Cats make the difference between a house and a home for me. I find caring for our tiny fur goblin incredibly rewarding, if also infuriating at times (why does he need to eat plastic?).
I'm also acutely aware that pets fully dependant on us and I place pets wellbeing and safety above my own. (This does not extend to letting them take up the whole couch if I want to sit down)
My family's cats have ensured I am adequately trained in Proper Scritches, Where Not To Touch, and Remaining Still to be the best lap possible.
I've also got experience in feeding cats medicine as I was caring for my elderly neighbour's pet when they were unable to. I can also do injections.
I'm happy to water plants, collect mail and look after other pets - except arachnids. Sorry, I will not actually be able to be in the same room than your pet spider, I will actually die and the paperwork isn't worth it.
As a person with a needy cat and anxiety, I understand very well that you have Systems In Place for both your cat and yourself and I will respect those. It's your baby, and your home first.
If I'm not able to stay over the night, provided you have fast broadband, I could stay over during the day instead and work from yours - with adequate frequent petting breaks and leave after they've had their dinner.
