Need an
awesome
cat sitter?
About Me
I know my place in life: at the beck and call of our feline overlords.
My name is Debs and I've been a massive cat fan since I was very small. My neighbour was a member of Lothian Cat Rescue and I still remember TIny Tim the tabby kitten, Jasper the big black cat and Tarvit, a tabby and white rescue found in Tarvit Street.
I'm a voice actor, writer and late-diagnosed autistic.
I love being among arty and creative folk and have written a play, a poetry collection and co-written an album.
The Cat Distribution Society (CDS) finally gifted me my own kitten in 1990 and I had 12 glorious years with him. I've been fortunate enough to share my life with many beautiful cats in the years since. I live in a community where there are many cats whose owners trust me to look after them on a regular basis.
I have a sixteen year old son who is as mad about cats as I am, and regularly joins me on my cat-sitting adventures, when he's not booked for his own!
In my local community I'm known as a "cat botherer" because if a cat likes company, I'm right there.
I know pretty much all the neighbourhood cats and my son and I can regularly be found walking around the neighbourhood looking for pets and head butts.
If I'm asked to cat-sit, I prefer an introductory visit so I can get to know more about the cat and their likes and dislikes.
It's very important that the cat I am looking after feels calm and safe in their own home. I never forget that the cat takes priority and, unless told otherwise, like to wait for the cat to approach me for pets.
Some cats are absolute cuddle bugs and others are more aloof. That's absolutely fine. My adoration of cats means respecting them too.
My availability varies as I'm often helping out professional cat sitters so please just message me and I'll do my best to respond quickly.
