Reliable, conscientious and caring sitter

I am a retired lecturer, since when I have been doing voluntary work, travelling and research. I have always had cats since I was a child and through much of my working life. They can be such good company. I made a habit of having two cats at the same time, so that they could keep each company when I was out.

When I started doing more travelling, I decided that it was unfair to have a cat at home, so I often looked after friends’ cats when they were away. I have found that cats seem to like me instinctively. For instance, in Laos on a voluntary mission, the local cat immediately came and curled up on my lap at our first group meeting and continued to come to me every time I sat in the room.

I really miss not having a cat or two to stroke and would love the opportunity to make a fuss of them from time to time.

For the last month I have been looking after a cat in Barcelona. He is lovely, very friendly and talkative. He loves being stroked and brushed.

I am happy to give special care to an elderly cat or one which needs special attention. I always stay at least an hour at the owner's property for each visit. I make sure that litter tray and dishes are clean at each meal. Most of all I love to cuddle/stroke them if they allow me to do so. I take photos to send to the client and I use Whatsapp for messages.
