About Me
Exceptional cat care by Lauren
I’ve always loved cats, right from when I was a toddler I’m told that I would try befriend any cat I met. I still remember my elation when, aged 7, I managed to persuade my parents to let me have a kitten from the litter of the stray cat taken in by my friend's family. A beautiful grey moggy, who I named Dusty. I was privileged to have 20 years of cuddles with Dusty and still think of him often.
We now have 2 rescue cats, Victor and Violet, a sibling pair, who have been part of our family for 6 years. They are both very affectionate cats who love cuddles, treats and seeking out the coziest snooze spots around the house.
Victor is something of an extrovert and enjoys hanging out in front of our house befriending passersby. He even has regular visitors from the local school! Victor loves to be picked up and babied, but will settle for laying himself across my shoulders if I’m trying to do housework.
Violet is more reserved and prefers to stay in the house with her family. Although she does have a sassy side, which comes out when stealing food from the kitchen! Violet isn’t a fan of being picked up, but loves to cuddle up on my lap and will immediately nudge my hand if I ever pause when stroking her.
I offer an experienced and highly competent cat care service. I honestly think there are few things better in life than cuddling a purring cat! However, I am very mindful that cats are individuals, and like people, they don’t all enjoy cuddles. I’m always careful to get to know a cat at their pace and on their terms. Whether they prefer cuddles, play or a respectful distance, I’ll always interact with them in the way that makes them happiest!
As one of our cats unfortunately has a long term health problem I am experienced at administering regular oral medication.
I also have experience of administering subcutaneous injections to cats.
I am available every day of the week and can visit your cat(s) once or twice a day, which ever works best for you and your cat(s). I am also happy to discuss, on a case by case basis, providing care for any other pets you have. Whilst cats hold a special place in my heart, I love all animals, whether furry, scaly, feathered or creepy crawly!
If you feel that overnight stays would be best for your pets I am available every night of the week to provide this service. In addition, if you feel an overnight stay isn’t quite necessary, but would like me to spend longer with your pets to keep them company, play and give extra fusses I am also happy to discuss your individual needs and make an arrangement that best suits you.
I am also happy to water plants, take in post, take in or put out bins and similar small jobs as part of my visit, at no extra cost. For example, I can open and close curtains and switch lights on and off, so that it isn’t obvious to burglars that the house may be empty over night.
I understand how fastidious cats are about clean litter trays and have the same high standards myself, so I will ensure that any litter trays are kept pristine!
I will also ensure all food and water is provided to your pets exacting preferences. Generally, any wet food and water bowls will be thoroughly cleaned before refilling with fresh. Of course, if your cat has a different preference, for example not liking water that is too fresh, then please let me know and I will accommodate. Dry food I will feed as per your instructions. I am also happy to set up timed feeders as per your instructions.
If your pets require any vet visits whilst you are away, whether planned or emergency, I can take care of this under your instructions.
Finally, I know how important updates and pictures are when I’m missing Victor and Violet whilst away! So I’m more than happy to tell you what your pets are up to each day and send pictures, if you wish.
Any pet I look after is treated with the same love, care and respect as my own two babies!
