About Me
Purrfect Garden City Cat Sitter
UPDATED NB:
I have taken an extended sabbatical for a few years. My husband, pets and I are trying out living on the Spanish Canary Islands. While here I am volunteering at a local animal sanctuary working with a mishmash colony of adult street cats until a loving home is found for them. It is good and I get to have lots of cuddles with lots of baby kittens in the other enclosure. My cat Luna insists I take a shower and change my clothes when I get home; she is definitely a ‘single’ cat thank you very much 🙄. We have recently been adopted by an abandoned Siamese which we have named Leo.
========== Cat’s have played an important role my entire life with always having at least one in residence; as a child, myself and my brothers each had responsibility for our own cats: my cat was called Jammy. I was your typical ‘cat lady’ until I met my husband 13yrs ago, I am now in my fifties and live with my husband, our tortoiseshell cat Luna and Chihuahua x poodle, Maxie. I was asked before the pandemic to volunteer with RSPCA to help socialise shelter cats to help their chances for being adopted. I am very much looking forward to helping these poor kitties; I am looking forward to when I can join the small team that do this vital job.
I cover a maximum 5km (approx 3 miles) radius from my home in Letchworth Garden City.
I am an excellent interpreter of cat speak and can usually understand what our fur babies are trying to make their care givers understand: a scratch just to the left a bit behind my right ear, belly rub at your own risk matey, you seriously expect me to eat that do you 🙄, I do believe my toilet area needs attending hurry up I need to mess it up but not before you clean it first! The usual cat chat they give us; their ever doting loyal slaves 🙄😁.
I also love to play with cats but let them direct the pace, and as for cuddles, well surely that is what our laps were designed for?!? 😁 Isn’t it 🤔
Update: I have recently been accepted by RSPCA to be a Volunteer Socialiser for abandoned and abused rescued cats at a local shelter in Biggleswade.
