About Me
Purrfect sitter for your cat(s) 🐾
Hi there!
Welcome to my profile & thank you for considering me as a sitter for your cat.
I believe that all animals have their own unique personalities, needs and preferences, and this is the approach I offer to your cat. As a cat owner myself, I know how valuable it is to find somebody competent, reliable & trustworthy who will look after your four legged best friend just like they would after their own. I have years of experience working with a wide range of companion animals species in different settings so I can guarantee that your cat will be in the best hands possible!
I first began volunteering in local stables & had my first pets, golden retriever (Maggie) & a rescue cat (Lilo) as a teenager. I loved being around animals & always knew they would remain a significant part of my life one way or another.
Studying a Bioveterinary Science degree at the University of Liverpool followed by a masters degree in Applied Animals Behaviour and Welfare at Hartpury led me to a career within the animal welfare sector. I currently work as a Policy and Scientific Officer for one of the oldest & biggest animal welfare charities in the UK (happy to disclose more information during meet & greet). In my day to day role, I use science to advocate for good lives for pets, working animals and those used in sport through corporate and government policy change, and behaviour change. A large part of what I do involves providing quality advice and information on companion animal welfare, and behaviour to pet owners, shelters and businesses. I also train and provide ongoing support to staff working in the more hands-on roles within the sector.
My current job is hybrid with very flexible working hours which is perfect for looking after cats which need to receive medication at a certain time or enjoy frequent play!
During university, I worked as a Vet Patient Care Assistant in a Small Animal Practice in South West London. This role allowed me to work with many cats and dogs, but also rabbits, birds, ferrets and rodents of different breeds, ages (from a few days old to very senior) and health statuses. I assisted vets and nurses in consults & medical procedures but also cared for our inpatients. I looked after the animals staying with us at the practice just like I would after my own, and made sure they were as comfortable as possible when in a new place and surrounded by unfamiliar people. I’m confident in administering most medications, carrying out basic health checks, grooming, feeding, and looking after very young pets, lovely seniors as well as the more „difficult” animals. Apart from cats and dogs I’d be also happy to also look after most other animals.
I’m a proud owner of a handsome four year old domestic shorthair cat called Marcel! Marcel is a delight but he’s not a fan of other cats & dogs. I respect his boundaries so I’m not currently able to offer boarding, I am however open to looking after your pet in your home for day or overnight stays & doing drop in visits.
While looking after your cat I’ll give them lots of love and attention. I will offer plenty of cuddles, play time and serve them their food on time. I have a lot of respect for feline independence and so I’m also prepared to respect your cats boundaries and give them the space they need. I’m happy to go with what works best for every individual 🐾
I’d be happy to arrange a meet & greet in person or chat on the phone plenty in advance so that you can tell me about your cat, their habits, needs and preferences as well as your expectations. Please let me know if your cat has any illnesses, allergies, dietary requirements or behavioural difficulties I should know about to be able to provide the best standard possible standards of care.
