New to this site, but have done lots of cat-sitting, and used to have my own grumpy old lady cat

I love spending time with people's pets and have pet-sat and house-sat for friends several times times before. I've also looked after friend's cats in my house longer term, and have given them as much attention or solitude as they want. Animals warm up to me quickly, even when I've had to give them meds.

I'm happy to have your pet at my house, or I'm more than happy to come to yours if your pet would be happier there. I'm very respectful of other people's places, I'm a guest even if I am looking after your pets.

I've just started a new job so I'm sticking to Beeston/Rylands for "popping in" visits. All going well, I can start hybrid working soon, which I'd be happy to do at yours for a longer visit if your pet would like to have someone around, and I could go a bit further out location-wise :)

I can: - give medication (pills, eyedrops, eye ointment, eardrops, spot-on treatments) - I've never given an injection to a cat, but I'm more than happy for you to show me how (I've seen many being done but I've never done it myself) - give lots of strokes and play if they want it - very happily pick cats up (if they want it, or if they've jumped up somewhere they shouldn't) - clean up after them

I've also house-sat recently for dogs, he warmed up to me very quickly but did insist on taking up most of the bed. I'm also happy to look after other animals, I used to own guinea pigs and gave them baths and medication several times, and more recently house sat for a friend's guinea pigs, which included cleaning out and giving daily medication.

I'm very good at coaxing out nervous cats. I give them space, letting them sniff my hand and chatting to them but letting them come to me in their own time. When I looked after a friend's cat for about 9 months, he was very nervous and spent the first 2 days hiding behind a desk, but he warmed up to me quickly and became a big cuddle-monster, and quite confident around visitors.
