New to this site, but have done lots of cat-sitting, and used to have my own grumpy old lady cat

I love spending time with people's pets and have pet-sat and house-sat for friends several times times before. I've also looked after friend's cats in my house longer term, and have given them as much attention or solitude as they want. Animals warm up to me quickly, even when I've had to give them meds.

I'm more than happy to come to yours, and I'm very respectful of other people's places, I'm a guest even if I am looking after your pets.

I live in Beeston/Rylands with my cat, so am sticking to this area so I can still pop in on him when I'm petsitting. I'm a hybrid worker, and will happily do that from your home as long as there's a reliable internet connection, but there are certain days I need to be in the office (it changes depending on when meetings are)

I can: - give medication (pills, eyedrops, eye ointment, eardrops, spot-on treatments) - I've never given an injection to a cat, but I'm more than happy for you to show me how (I've seen many being done but I've never done it myself) - give lots of strokes and play if they want it - very happily pick cats up (if they want it, or if they've jumped up somewhere they shouldn't) - clean up after them

I've also house-sat for dogs and cockatiels, and I ussed to own guinea pigs (which included giving them medication). I also recently did an online course on dog first-aid (a lot of which is also useful for cats). I'm also happy to look after other animals, as long as I've been given clear instructions on what needs doing.

I'm very good at coaxing out nervous cats. I give them space, letting them sniff my hand and chatting to them but letting them come to me in their own time. When I looked after a friend's cat for about 9 months, he was very nervous and spent the first 2 days hiding behind a desk, but he warmed up to me quickly and became a big cuddle-monster, and quite confident around visitors.
