Cats First Cat Whisperer

I started catsitting when I moved to Oxford in 2014 for my PhD in Physics — because I was catless and missed feline company!

I’ve cared for cats since childhood and was also involved in rescue and animal rights work in Turkey (where domesticated cats first appeared around 8,000 B.C.). I have a special interest in cat behaviour and a natural ability to bond with cats, which often leads to long-lasting friendships — I’ve even Skyped with cats who moved away from Oxford. Friends now call me a “cat whisperer.”

My Life with Cats

Since 2017 I’ve shared my home with two wonderful cats, Puli and Lakshmi. I take care of their daily needs, vet visits (with Stefani at Medivet), and keep a close eye on their health. Lakshmi, our beloved three-legged cat, has chosen me as her favourite human, bedtime companion, and sometimes stand-in fourth leg.

In early 2025, their previous owner sadly passed away and left both cats in my care. They now rely on my daily attention, so I take on only limited new catsitting clients. This way, I can dedicate the time needed to properly get to know and care for each cat I look after.

I am generous about my time with cats. I would like to spend as much time as they require until they’re happy for me to leave them. Therefore, I have very limited availability.

I have a Christmas guarantee policy meaning I spend Christmas in Oxford for the cat and my regular clients have priority of booking during this time.

I would do my best not to let down my clients so I welcome last-minute bookings but the earlier the booking the more likely that I can make my best availability for the cats.

I am well aware of the responsibility of taking care of your precious cats as well as your house. I would pay particular attention to the cat rules, which can be discussed and tailored according to every cat's unique personality and needs.

I would happily take your instructions for cleaning up the cat-related mess.

If you and your cat allow me, I would be keen to take pictures of your cat and share them with you.

I am happy to help you with cat conflict resolution, eating disorders, diet plans, behaviour improvement, psychological and post-trauma support, chronic disease management and medical emergencies.

I enjoy taking care of the plants.

Please note that the cost of twice a visit day is double the once a visit but I was able to reflect this on the catinaflat system.
