About Me
Cat sitter in Cambridge
Hello :-)! I am a full time professional female working as a scientist in Cambridge.
I love animals. If I see an animal needs attention I will go help. I have rescued various animals in the past: taking a cold and hungry cat into the warmth and got it to reunite with its owner, an injured racing pigeon from cat attacks, an injured young black bird and brought it to the vet, a butterfly on the cycle path, a few hedgehogs at different places and other wild animals.
Over the years I have enjoyed having different type of pets (not all at the same time!): 5 chinchillas (2 to start with and they have babies), 4 dwarf hamsters (siblings), 2 rats (sisters), a red guppy, a parrot, 2 budgies and 6 generations of countless number of stick insects.
Almost a year ago, my gorgeous tuxedo snow boots Ebony sadly passed away due to acute kidney failure. This really breaks my heart because she is my first cat and has been an important part of my life. Luckily she seemed to have gone peacefully in her sleep and I am grateful that she was smiling when she went :'-) . Ivory my other cat is now getting all the cuddles and attentions. The experience of suddenly losing Ebony has confirmed me even more about making the most of every moment you can with your loved ones, which I am glad I have been doing. It has also made me even more dedicated towards look after every cat I have the opportunity to meet in my cat sitting career.
Having serviced my clients since 2016, my biggest 4 achievements to date would have to be:
1) Looking 2 cats and 7 new born kittens 2) Having built a great relationship with a 19 year old cat who is a little bit aloof but super adorable 3) Looking after a 17 year old cat who requires medicine feeding into the mouth regularly 4) Making friends with a very shy cat and got him to purr, which amazed his human parents (they were expecting that I might not see him much during my visits due to him hiding and being outside, but we always managed to have cuddles!) 5) Performing insulin injections and providing a range of medications to a 18 year old kitty following a very stricter routine.
All human and cats are happy, which makes me really proud!
Cat makes me so happy and keep me calm, I don't know why. I like having the responsibility of looking after them. Every cat is a cutie, no matter what breed or colour. The personality is what makes them so special!
My service generally includes: feeding, sorting out toilet bowl, grooming, playing, cuddling and general entertaining. When requested, I can also let the cats outside, perform injections, prepare medication in food and feeding medicine (via syringe or as tablets) directly into the mouth. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I naturally have not got as many cat sitting opportunity as I had before. However, I hope this can pick up again when the global situation improves because cat sitting is an important part of my life. I would love to cat sit more, to meet more lovely cats and continue helping out cat owners to feel their cats are in safe hands while they can relax to be away.
I hope to hear from you soon! Thank you :-)
Luciana
