Cats Rule (and they know it)

I'm a retired magazine journalist from Cape Town, now living (with my wife) halfway between Bangor and Caernarfon in north Wales. When we emigrated to the UK, we left our female 9-year-old cat (Chloe) with a nice cat lady while we searched for a permanent home, intending to bring her over once we had settled. We were not really surprised when Chloe's new mum insisted that she wanted to keep her. It goes without saying that we miss her, even though we're reassured by the occasional picture and video. When meeting a new cat, I tend to take it slowly. In general, cats do not take kindly to pushy strangers.

I will visit your home and feed your cat when arranged and will talk to him or her without being patronising.
