Cat lover with fostering and rescue experience

Hi, I’m Katie. I’m 36 and live in a little hamlet in the countryside near Tiverton. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals, so caring for them has always been a big part of my life. These days, my partner and I share our home with four wonderful rescue dogs and three cats—I honestly can’t imagine life without them.

I originally trained and worked as a nurse, but a few years ago I decided to follow my childhood dream of working in animal rescue. I now work in the cattery and kennels, and I love being part of each animal’s journey - watching them heal, grow in confidence, and eventually find their forever homes is the most rewarding feeling.

I also know how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your pets in someone else’s care. That’s why, when I offer drop-in visits or home support, I treat each pet and home with the same respect and kindness I’d want for my own. Whether it’s feeding, playtime, medication, or simply keeping them quiet company, I always tailor my care to suit their needs and your peace of mind.

Qualifications and Experience: -Animal Care Assistant in rescue -Registered Nurse - Achieved a 1st -Level 5 degree in Dog Behaviour - In progress -Psychology Bsc (including animal behaviour) - 2:1 -Worked for a foreign rescue -Fostered both dogs and cats - some very anxious, some with training and health needs. -I run my own natural dog treat business - Bark & Bramble. -Good understanding of health and nutrition. -I am DBS checked and have public liability insurance.

When I visit your home, I’ll always treat your cat and your space with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your family in someone else’s hands, so I make sure my care is personal, thoughtful, and reliable.

I’m happy to keep you updated with texts, calls, or photos - whatever helps you feel at ease while you’re away. I can also help with little extras during visits, like watering plants or collecting post. With experience in grooming and giving medication to cats, I can provide that support too if needed.
