For 11 years, I shared my life with a cat named Iriska — my little moonbeam. She was with me through seasons of growth, laughter, stillness, and sorrow.

She wasn’t just a pet — she was home. A presence. A companion who taught me the sacredness of still moments and the beauty of simply being.

When war came and the world turned upside down, I had to make the most heartbreaking choice — to leave Iriska in Ukraine, safe with friends. My body crossed borders, but my heart stayed curled beside her, in the windowsill sun.

Why do I love cats? Because they carry the kind of quiet strength and softness I hold inside. They teach us that healing doesn’t always make noise. That presence is enough. That love, even across distance, remains.
