An Attentive and Caring Friend For Your Fur Baby

I'm Valerie, a U.S. expat who moved to Scotland for love in 2024 and never looked back. As a writer, my schedule is flexible and I have plenty of time to spend with animals, in the garden, and exploring Scotland with my husband and in-laws. We currently share our home with 12-year-old Lhasa Apso mix Lola, 1-year-old hamster Strawbebe, and about 40 pigeons who show up for dinner like clockwork each day.

I grew up alongside cats, from my first indoor-outdoor babysitter Shugar to my oldest friend Flip (AKA Kitty) to my mom's hyperactive roommate Spring. As an adult, I've also cohabitated with several housemates' cats, ranging from clumsy kittens to fiesty introverts to lazy feline elders. While we don't currently have a cat following the passing of family pet Spock, we still play host to plenty of neighborhood kitties who end up in our yard while on the prowl.

As an anxiety-prone pet owner, your cat's health, safety, and comfort are what's most important to me. While any service you book includes feeding, litter box cleaning, and plenty of head scritches, I'm happy to tailor drop-ins to individual pet needs including spending quality time with cuddle bugs, grooming shedders, calming stressed felines, and helping energetic cats get their zoomies out. If your cat has special dietary or healthcare needs, or if they just need a little extra TLC, just let me know and I'm happy to help.

I'm also happy to help care for other small animals on a case by case basis, and my previous pets have included guinea pigs, hamsters, lizards, fish, rabbits, birds, and salamanders.
