About Me
Lifelong Cat Owner and Sitter Based in Leeds
Hello!
I’m from Turkey, and cats have been part of my life since I was eight, when my father brought home a stray kitten. Since then, I’ve shared my home with cats for 24 years. I spent the past nine years in Istanbul studying—anyone who’s been there will know that cats are truly part of the cityscape :)
Over the years, I’ve lived with two different flatmates, and the cats we cared for in both homes were orphaned and sick kittens when we first met them. We bottle-fed them, taught them to use the litter box, administered the necessary medication, and cared for them as they grew.
Back in my family home, my mother and I have also often cared for stray cats in our neighbourhood. We helped cats living on the streets, as well as those in need of temporary care due to illness, having kittens, or requiring veterinary attention. Some of the cats we cared for were eventually rehomed, while the orange cat with a goofy face, whom we still look after, became part of our family.
Having lived with cats for most of my life, I’ve learned to appreciate each one’s unique personality and needs, and their calm presence and sweet expressions never fail to charm me. I recently relocated to Leeds to join my partner and now live in the LS6 area. Working from home gives me a very flexible schedule, as I am currently not employed and focusing on preparing academic job applications.
I genuinely miss having a cat around, and I would really love to look after yours as if they were my own.
Here’s how I can care for your cat:
I’m comfortable caring for cats of all ages and needs. I can feed them and ensure they have fresh water, clean litter boxes, and that your cat feels safe and comfortable in their environment.I have experience administering various types of medication to cats, including antibiotics for infections, antifungal treatments, eye drops, and vitamins, as recommended by veterinarians. I’ve also assisted with wound care and bandaging. I can give medication to your cat if needed and help with any special dietary requirements.
I can also provide plenty of playtime and companionship to keep your cat happy and active. I sometimes see cats find their own toys, such as shoestrings to chase, or furry accessories, and some enjoy batting around hair ties. I’ve even had a cat who loved little balls made of aluminum foil- he could even fetch the ball and bring it back to me! I also often play tag with my cats, which keeps them engaged and satisfies their prey drive. Cats may spend a lot of time napping, but the time we share with them really matters, more than we often realize, especially when we’re away for parts of the day.
I’m especially available for cat sitting in Headingley, Kirkstall, Meanwood, Hyde Park, and the City Centre.
