Experienced cat sitter and cat owner🐈👋

Hi! I’m Rachel, a PhD researcher in social and public health sciences at the University of Glasgow 👩‍💻 📊.

I spend most of my free time with my cat, Rhubarb, who is honestly the light of my life. My tiny calico girl has taught me a lot about looking after cats. She can be a sensitive soul and needs patience, consistency, and a calm approach, which has made me very aware of how important routines and familiar environments are for cats 🧘‍♀️🕰️.

Before getting Rhubarb, I lived with and looked after friends’ cats who had completely different temperaments to hers, so I like to think I’ve got a well rounded understanding of how to care for all sorts of cats. Whether they’re shy, timid, affectionate, or bouncing off the walls, I always meet them where they’re at and look after them in the way that suits them best 🧶🐈🐈‍⬛.

When it comes to care, I’m very comfortable sticking closely to your cat’s usual routine, especially around feeding and fresh water, and I’m also happy to take care of litter trays as needed. I will stay longer for playtime and cuddles if that’s what your cat enjoys, or keep visits brief and low-key if they’re more nervous and prefer their space 🚰🎣.

I’m comfortable administering medication such as tablets or liquid medicine, as long as clear instructions are provided. I wouldn’t be able to administer injections, but I always take a calm and careful approach when it comes to any medical needs.

I treat other people’s homes with a lot of respect and will always keep things clean and tidy, leaving everything as I found it. I’m happy to send updates at each visit so you know how your cat is getting on, and I’m also very open to meeting beforehand if that feels helpful. I know it can feel strange having someone new in your home, and I want both you and your cat to feel completely comfortable 😽📸🧽.
