About Me
Experienced overnight and longterm sitter
Hello. When my children were young, I set up the spare room to take in sick and pregnant cats, caring for them as a volunteer for Cats Protection.
When my children left home, I started house-sitting for friends while they were on holiday to care for their home and cats, or other pets. Someone suggested I do it for other people too, so I added my name to a sitters website.
Word travels fast and before you know it I was moving round the UK and staying in different houses, sometimes for weeks or months at a time, to care for homes and pets while their owners were away.
Sitting suits me well because my main job is as a scriptwriter and so I'm indoors a lot, typing away. It's nice to do this in new settings and with new furry friends.
You could say it is the perfect pet-loving writers' retreat.
I have cat-sat a lot and I specialise in overnight and longterm sits, from weeks to months. I can show three full years of experience and dozens of five star reviews caring for other peoples' homes and pets while they have needed to go away for important business or on holidays, at weddings, over Christmas or for medical procedures.
I'm a non-smoker and I earn a living as a script writer so while you're away, I'll mostly be sitting quietly in your house, tapping away at my computer, or taking breaks to check on your pet, keep them company and attend to their needs.
Every home and pet is different. Some cats just want to be left alone, while others seek playful attention, play, and grooming. I love seeing their different personalities and looking after them in your home; it's like a little adventure for me and can inspire my writing.
When I'm sitting, I love to send you text updates with photos, videos, or even do live video calls to let you know how things are going at home with your cat. How much or how little you want to hear from me while you're away is totally up to you.
As well as taking care of your cat, you can rely on me to look after your home. I'm always careful about following any house rules you might have, like taking off shoes inside or not bringing meat/dairy products into a vegan home.
I keep saying 'cat' but I am also flexible in terms of type of pet. Over the years, I've looked after everything from dogs to ferrets, from rabbits to birds, and from turtles to chickens, and more. I've also looked after different breeds of cats, from moggies to Maine Coons and from British Shorthairs to Bengals.
After three-non-stop-years of catsitting work, I have been given dozens of 'perfect' reviews. Some of the reviews tell how I dealt with unexpected events, from cancelled return flights and local droughts to a cat with toothache. These things don't happen often, but if they do you can rely on me to adapt, take action and respond with compassion. I strive to provide all the pet care and support your cat (and you!) might need.
