Feline-First Sitters

My name is Dan and I have loved animals all of my life. My love for animals must have started with my grandparent's Golden Retriever, Benson who passed away by the time I was 12. I had dogs growing up but none got the same amount of love that I had for Benson till I became an adult and got my first pets, Vader and Chewey the rats. Since then I've owned and taken care of more rats, hamster, gerbil, fish and even snakes. My wife and I currently have a 10 year old cat called Gizmo and a 2 year old Golden Retriever (it was always going to be this breed) called Maple. They are our fur babies, they are our world. Back in 2018 we started D.A.Pets and have been taking care of peoples cats and we want to build on being known as the cat care specialists.

We understand that every cat is different. We welcome the overly loving, head‑butting, “let me turn your trousers into a different shade” types, and we care just as much for the cats who might as well be imaginary because they’re too timid for tummy tickles. Slow and steady always wins the race — or in this case, the trust and potential friendship of a cat.

We could simply put down food, refill the water bowl, and empty the litter tray, but that’s not who we are. We take the time to bond with your cat if they want it, building positive associations with our visits and reading their body language so we know when to offer affection and when to give them space.

Your cat sets the pace — we follow their lead.
