Jayne - calm cat care

I’m Jayne, and I’ve spent over 35 years sharing my life with cats. I’ve always been drawn to their independence, intelligence, and quiet companionship, and I enjoy taking the time to understand each cat as an individual rather than expecting them all to behave the same way.

I’m a retired nurse, and that background has shaped how I approach care — calm, observant, patient, and reliable. Being retired also means I now have the time and flexibility to focus fully on cat care, without rushing visits or fitting them around other work.

I’ve often lived with more than one cat at a time and have a particular soft spot for Bengal cats, having previously enjoyed engaging with and training more energetic, curious personalities. I currently share my home with a rescued cat called Fu, adopted at six, who is very much his own character — affectionate on his terms and entirely unimpressed by bribery.

Cats have been a constant, grounding presence in my life, and caring for them feels natural and rewarding. I genuinely enjoy their company and take pride in offering calm, thoughtful care built on experience, respect, and understanding.

I provide in-home cat sitting visits, allowing cats to stay in their own familiar environment while their owners are away. My focus is on maintaining normal routines and providing calm, attentive care tailored to each cat’s individual needs.

Each visit can include feeding and fresh water, litter tray care, play or gentle interaction where welcomed, and quiet companionship for cats who prefer space. I’m confident administering medication when required and attentive to any changes in behaviour, appetite, or wellbeing.

I treat every home with care and respect, am mindful of security, and ensure doors and windows are properly locked at the end of each visit. I’m happy to provide updates and photos if requested, so owners can feel reassured that their cat is settled and well cared for.

My aim is to offer reliable, calm care that keeps both cats and their owners comfortable and at ease.
